Pink Lady America, Sherwin-Williams Urge Consumers to ‘Paint It Pink’

In a unique partnership, Pink Lady America LLC and Sherwin-Williams have joined forces to encourage people to “Paint It Pink” with the brand-new shade of Pink Lady Pink.

The collaboration between Yakima, Wash.-based Pink Lady America, which manages the Pink Lady trademark for more than 220 apple growers in North America, and Cleveland-based Sherwin-Williams, which operates more than 400 stores from coast to coast, will run through May 2012.

As well as the new paint shade, the partnership offers consumers the opportunity to enter a contest for cash prizes from Pink Lady America by using the color of the Pink Lady Brand Apple in a colorful and innovative way.

“We are asking the fans of the Pink Lady apple to show how much they love it and its popular color, and to do it in a very distinctive way,” said Alan Taylor, Pink Lady America marketing director. “Having the folks from Sherwin-Williams involved and offering a Pink Lady Pink paint, and at a 10 percent discount, is already adding to the excitement. What started as just a way to celebrate the Pink Lady Apple in the New Year took on a whole new dimension with this idea of a new shade of pink coming from Sherwin-Williams.”

All contestants need to do to participate is paint a scene including at least one Pink Lady Apple and videotape the process as it takes place, along with shots of the final scene. There’s a five-minute time limit on the video.
