PRIVATE LABEL: Cascades Unrolls Premium Paper Towel, Bath Tissue Line
As a way to solidify its presence in the growing premium private label towel and tissue market, Cascades Tissue Group, the fourth-largest producer of single-use paper in North America, has introduced a line of ultra-grade paper towels and premium-caliber bath tissue. The products, which will be initially sold through private labels in the United States, have begun shipping in all industry-standard sheet counts and roll sizes.
According to the Eau Claire, Wis.-based company, the new bath tissue line offers a bright-white look and performs as well as or better than comparable competitors’ products in the areas of softness, absorbency, thickness, strength and appearance, while the paper towels’ proven absorbency is attributable to a unique advanced technology resulting in a Through-Air-Dry-equivalent, ultra-grade item, at the expense of significantly less energy.
“Many people have high standards when it comes to the quality of their paper towels and bathroom tissue, and it’s rewarding to show that an environmentally advanced company can create such high-end paper products that provide maximum consumer comfort,” notes Suzanne Blanchet, president and CEO of Cascades Tissue Group, a division of Saint-Jerome, Quebec-based manufacturing and packaging company Cascades, Inc., which operates 15 mills throughout North America, including 10 in the United States.
