Produce for Better Health Wins Web Awards

Produce for Better Health Foundation (PBH) was recognized for the effectiveness of two of the group’s Web sites.

PBH's kids' website, www.foodchamps.org, received two national awards, while its consumer oriented site, www.fruitsandveggiesmorematters.org, nabbed another.

"The Food Champs Web site has been recognized for the positive influence it has on kids," said Elizabeth Pivonka, PBH president and CEO. "These awards show that PBH's online presence is being effective while supporting the Fruits & Veggies-More Matters national public health initiative."

The Food Champs Web site was recently reviewed in the "Surfing the Net with Kids" nationally syndicated newspaper column. Feldman also features www.foodchamps.org on her website, Surfing the Net with Kids.

The second honor was a partner badge from Education.com, which said that the resources PBH makes available have had a powerful and positive effect on kids and families.

The development of FoodChamps.org was a collaborative project with Imagination Farms, Kidzsmart, and PBH and was made possible by a donation from Imagination Farms and an in-kind contribution from Kidzsmart.

The Wilmington, Del.-based PBH's consumer Web site, www.fruitsandveggiesmorematters.org won the Visionary Award for Technology Excellence from Miles Technology in recognition of its leadership in significantly improving performance, productivity, and efficiency by implementing intelligent business technologies.
