Sam's Club to Host Inaugural ‘Taste of Spring’

To help would-be hosts plan their entertaining agendas for Easter, Passover, Mother's Day, bridal or baby showers, graduation and other upcoming spring events, Sam’s Club will hold its first "Taste of Spring." The three-day program, which will showcase a wide range of menu items, is scheduled to take place nationwide from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., from April 3 through April 5.

Non-members (known in the retailer’s parlances as “guests”) are not only welcome, but Sam's Club is also waiving the service fee on any purchase they make during the event, as a way to spur new memberships.

"Sam's Club is a great destination for any entertaining event," noted celebrity chef, restaurateur, caterer and entrepreneur Wolfgang Puck. "Demonstration and sampling events, like Taste of Spring, provide members and guests a chance to try new products or discover unique twists to traditional favorites. I will be preparing some of my signature dishes for various media outlets throughout the country to help everyone gear up for the season."

The retailer carries a full selection of Wolfgang Puck products, including knives, pots and pans and serving dishes, and during Taste of Spring, attendees can learn about a private cooking class with Puck in Los Angeles to be offered as a Once-in-a-Lifetime package for purchase on samsclub.com.

Taste of Spring will additionally feature such affordably priced menu options as a bridal shower buffet with salmon, shrimp, quiche, dinner rolls with cucumber and feta spread, pineapple, strawberries and cheesecake, for $5.31 per person. Among the Easter brunch ideas to be highlighted are ham, quiche, Boursin cheese, French bread, Caprese salad, a side vegetable and pecan rolls, at $3.32 per person.

The Sam's Club demo team will also create dishes throughout the event, with the help of an estimated 12,000 associates across the country. About 300,000 pounds of food are expected to be served.

Sam's Club, a division of Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., has over 47 million U.S. members and locations across the United States, as well in Brazil, Canada, China, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
