Sartori Makes Mint for Good Cause

Peppermint isn’t just for Christmas. And collaborative support for breast cancer awareness isn’t just for National Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.

To raise awareness about breast cancer and tie in the sweetness of Valentine’s Day, Plymouth, Wis.-based Sartori Foods introduced a Limited Edition BellaVitano cheese during the month of February. That unique variety is made by hand-rubbing aged BellaVitano Gold cheese with crushed peppermint candy, which lends some sweetness to the savory flavor profile.

Proceeds from sales of the sweet-savory Peppermint BellaVitano cheese – which is also pink in hue – will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., which strives to save lives through early detection and provide mammograms for those in need. “Our retailers have also been a tremendous help with this program – promoting breast cancer awareness through the cheese. It's an honor to see so many people coming together for this cause," says Chad Vincent, Sartori’s chief marketing officer.
