Wegmans to Open Full-service Restaurant

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Wegmans here plans to transform the cafe of its Patton Township, Pa. store into a 200-seat full-service restaurant, complete with a restaurant liquor license.

According to a report in the Centre Daily Times, the restaurant will offer sandwiches, pizza, Chinese food, and made-to-order specialties, such as seafood -- with the option of having beer or wine with dinner.

The retailer expects the restaurant to open in the next six to nine months, depending on how long the liquor license transfer takes.

This would be the first restaurant at a Wegmans store, according to the report. Most of Wegmans stores already have sit-down cafes.
