Kroger Pharmacist Named Industry Fellow

Kroger Atlanta division Pharmacy Clinical Sales Manager Liza Chapman has been named a fellow of the American Pharmacists Association’s (APhA) Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management.

Chapman – who is also president-elect of the Georgia Pharmacy Association – will officially accept the honor at the APhA annual convention in San Francisco in March.

“I am thrilled to accept this fellowship opportunity and serve as president of the Georgia Pharmacy Association,” Chapman said. “This is an extraordinary honor as we continue to advocate for excellent pharmacy practices, and the health care of our patients.”

The fellowship is earned by pharmacists with a minimum 10 years of professional experience who have “demonstrated exemplary professional achievements and service to the profession through activities with APhA and other national, state or local professional organizations,” according to the Washington, D.C.-based association.

“Liza brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position,” said Ruben Fernandez, VP of merchandising for Kroger’s Atlanta division. “We look forward to her leadership as we continue to improve the quality of life and health for Georgians.”

Chapman began her career with Cincinnati-based Kroger as a pharmacy intern in 2001 and later worked as a community pharmacy practice resident. She has held a variety of leadership roles within Kroger, including assistant pharmacy manager, pharmacy manager, pharmacy district coordinator and senior pharmacy clinical coordinator. She has held her current role of pharmacy clinical sales manager since 2015.

Kroger's Atlanta division encompasses more than 190 stores in Georgia, eastern Alabama and South Carolina.
