Publix Pharmacy Expands Partnership with Nemours

Publix Super Markets is growing its partnership with Nemours Children’s Health System by providing retail pharmacy services at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville, Fla. The new on-campus pharmacy offers specialized convenience to children, their families and Nemours employees at the outpatient specialty care practice.

This is the second Publix pharmacy at a Nemours facility; the second opened last December in Orlando, Fla.’s Nemours Children's Hospital.

“Providing a uniquely satisfying experience is a Nemours core value,” said Michael Erhard, MD, chief medical officer of Jacksonville-based Nemours Children’s Specialty Care. “Publix’s culture is built on that same value … The services they provide will improve the experience of our patients and families while offering expanded convenience during their visits.”

“Our pharmacy associates look forward to delivering the level of service that Publix is known for to the children, families, and employees of Nemours Children’s Specialty Care,” added Fred Ottolino, Publix VP of pharmacy operations.

Operating Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the pharmacy will provide specialty medications for children and employees, including certain medications available free through Publix, and access to refills at any Publix pharmacy location.

Publix operates more than 1,000 pharmacies in six southeast states, including five locations within hospitals in Florida. This is its first pharmacy operating within an outpatient specialty care practice.

Privately owned and operated by its 189,500 employees, Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix has 1,141 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.
