Fruits & Veggies--More Matters Month Returns in September

Produce for Better Health (PBH) Foundation plans to mark September and Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month with a "Fuel Up with Every Form" toolkit and an integrated social media program. The toolkit includes ad slicks, memes, social media posts, POS or price signs, and a calendar listing the fruit and vegetable PBH will be spotlighting each day of the month. Retailers, processors, supermarket dietitians, and other health professionals can use these items to use in consumer outreach efforts throughout September.

A different form of fruit and vegetables will appear on a weekly basis on the Fruits & Veggies—More Matters Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram platforms, as follows: week 1: fresh; week 2: frozen; week 3: canned; week 4: dried; week 5: 100 percent fruit and vegetable juice.

A post and collage image of the featured fruit and vegetable, along with a recipe, selection and storage tips, will appear daily to spur shoppers to boost their fruit and vegetable consumption.

"The available resources in the marketing toolkit coupled with the planned posts and tweets for September will easily enable everyone who supports PBH and Fruits & Veggies—More Maters to celebrate with us," said Elizabeth Pivonka, president and CEO of Hockessin, Del.-based PBH. "The elements of the toolkit are colorful and eye-catching and can also be used at other times throughout the year. We always receive tremendous support from the fruit and vegetable industry and public sector in joining with us to celebrate Fruits & Veggies—More Matters month."

PBH is a nonprofit fruit and vegetable education foundation.
