Idaho Potato Commission Takes Popular TV Spot to 'New Heights'

In response to the Idaho Potato Commission's (IPC) successful TV spot featuring farmer Mark Coombs' search for the Great Big Idaho Potato Truck, the IPC has launched its next commercial in the series for 2014.

The spot features Coombs teaming with Idaho Falls grower James Hoff as the two search for the 6-ton spud from a 1943 Boeing Stearman Staggerwgin bi-plane.

“These wildly popular national television commercials featuring the Great Big Idaho Potato and the farmer, Mark Coombs, have generated tremendous brand awareness but have also engaged consumers more than any of our other television commercials ever have,” said Frank Muir, president and CEO of the IPC, based in Eagle, Idaho.

The commercial, which runs through January 2015, is currently airing on CNN, Fox News, Food Network, HGTV and Headline News.

Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission is responsible for promoting and protecting the famous “Grown in Idaho” seal, a federally registered certification mark that assures consumers they are purchasing genuine Idaho potatoes.
