NEW PRODUCT: Supreme Cuts’ Steaming ‘Bean Bags’

Supreme Cuts, a player in the fresh, pre-cut vegetable industry, has launched a “steaming bag” packaging line for three of its most popular products: Snipped Green Beans, Supreme Cuts Wax Beans, and Supreme Cuts Rainbow Medley, a mix of yellow and green beans with carrots. The products steam in the microwave in minutes, the company said. The Supreme Cuts line uses a micro-perfed bag and cooking strip within the film, and requires no piercing or tearing of the bag. The company said it locks in the flavor and vitamins of the vegetables. Packaged in 12 oz. bags with a suggested retail price of $2.49-$2.99, the line is merchandised in the fresh produce aisle and offers a shelf life of up to two weeks.
