BJ’s Wholesale Club Debuts Pick Up & Pay Service

BJ’s Wholesale Club members now have the option to “pick up and pay” at all of the retailer’s 213 locations. The new service targets members who prefer to shop online, but want the convenience and immediacy of in-club pickup.

“We are offering our members total freedom of choice regarding how they shop at BJ’s Wholesale Club,” said Bari Harlam, EVP of marketing and membership for Westborough, Mass.-based BJ’s, which operates in 15 eastern states. ”Our new Pick Up & Pay option is another benefit of a BJ’s membership. This new service combines the at-home convenience of online shopping, including guaranteed product availability and our affordable pricing, without the wait for shipping and delivery.”

Pick Up & Pay works as follows:

  • Members sign into BJs.com, select their local club and reserve items.
  • A BJ’s associate handpicks the items and places them in a cart ready to be picked up and paid for at BJ’s Member Services Desk.
  • When the order is ready, the member will receive a confirmation email. Orders placed before 1 p.m. can be picked up the same day.
  • Members visit their local Club, pick up the items and pay.

Going directly to the club for Pick Up & Pay items, members can shop for additional items not part of their online order, including fresh produce and USDA Choice meats, and avail themselves of in-club promotions. Nonmembers can take advantage of this service by signing up for a free 90-day membership or a $40 membership offer, both available through July 3.
