FreshDirect to Keep Customers Informed Via Mobile Messaging

4/17/2014

Online grocer FreshDirect plans to deploy a new mobile messaging platform to keep its customers informed of their order and delivery status as well as any service notifications.

The New York-based grocer is working with Jersey City-based mobile media solutions provider Single-Touch Systems, Inc. on the deployment. “The partnership with Single Touch reflects FreshDirect’s dedication to best-in-class customer service,” Tim Knoll, VP of transportation operations at FreshDirect told Progressive Grocer. “It will enhance communication between FreshDirect and our customers, enabling FreshDirect to offer real time delivery information.”

With more than 1 billion messages sent since inception, Single Touch's Reminder Messaging suite is the flagship of the company's product offerings. The technology provides companies with the opportunity to establish a more trusted relationship with its customers by direct mobile messaging.

FreshDirect places a high value on its consumer trust, and said it’s continually looking for tools that will help strengthen this trust. “Wells Fargo and Fluid, Inc. issued a report this week that named FreshDirect the ‘Leader of the Pack’ compared to other online grocery retailers, highlighting the company’s ‘constant innovation to meet changing customer demands,’” Knoll added. “This is just one more example of that commitment.”

Through patented technologies and a modular, adaptable platform, Single Torch's multi-channel messaging gateway is designed to enable marketers to reach consumers on all types of connected devices, with information that engages interest, drives transactions and strengthens relationships and loyalty.
