Instacart Entering UT, Expanding in CO, FL

Instacart is launching its service in three new markets – Salt Lake City; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Port St. Lucie, Fla. – on June 22, partnering with grocers in the regions to expand its grocery delivery service to a combined 900,000-plus households.

Instacart’s service is now available to:

  • Residents in 46 ZIP codes in the Salt Lake City area – 450,000-plus households – who can now order from such food retailers as Costco, Whole Foods Market and Natural Grocers
  • Residents in 30 ZIP codes in the Colorado Springs area – 225,000-plus households – who can now order from such food retailers as Whole Foods, Costco and Natural Grocers
  • Residents in 27 ZIP codes in the Port St. Lucie area – 228,000-plus households – who can now order from such food retailers as Publix Super Markets and BJ's Wholesale Club

Customers use the Instacart website or app to create shopping lists with products from their favorite local stores, and Instacart connects them with shoppers who handpick the items on their lists and deliver them straight to their homes.

Based in San Francisco, Instacart has set a goal of launching in more than 100 new markets in 2017. In April, it revealed plans to serve 80 percent of American households by 2018.
