Meijer will begin providing store-to-door delivery service to more than a half-million households in Louisville and Lexington, Ky., starting July 27.
Made possible through a partnership with Birmingham, Ala.-based delivery provider Shipt, the service is part of Meijer's delivery-service expansion across its six states of operation, first announced in March. It will result in more than 250,000 deliveries this year.
Meijer patrons may choose from 55,000 items at their local Meijer stores, from fresh food to a wide selection of everyday essentials, for delivery. Shipt's fleet of shoppers will hand-pick and bring orders to recipients' doorsteps 24 hours a day.
Customers of the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based retailer may sign up for Shipt memberships for $99 a year, and receive $25 off their first order if they subscribe before launch. Shoppers may sign up for the service via computer or mobile app.
