New Mobile App Enhancement Improves Field Data Collection

An enhancement to AccuStore’s mobile app version 3.5 for iOS and Android aims to enhance the store walk process, streamlining “offline” data collection and providing the head office and field users faster access to information.

A mobile survey functionality enables retailers to gather site-specific data and insights quickly, including local market conditions, store execution and compliance, and competitive pricing from their mobile device. In the latest release, managers can request additional data validation in the survey process, to ensure that the information they are receiving from the field is as accurate and complete as possible.

In addition, AccuStore mobile app users can continue to complete surveys and store walks without a Wi-Fi internet or cellular data connection, and sync the survey once a Wi-Fi connected is re-established. Users can automatically send data to the server whenever a connection is detected, or hold the data and bulk-sync using WiFi to preserve data. Storage management has also been added to ensure that device memory is not impacted as surveys are completed offline.

“We heard concerns about ensuring reliable access in rural stores and BYOD environments, and responded by enhancing our native mobile technology,” said Nancy Carter, product manager for AccuStore, a provider of site intelligence for retailers and multi-site operators. “We continue to extend data collection efficiencies with our mobile app to enable our grocery, specialty retail and foodservice retailers to view and update site data accurately from anywhere.”
