Publix Names VP of Omnichannel, App Development

Erik Katenkamp has become VP of omnichannel and application development at Lakeland, Fla.-based Publix Super Markets. In his new role, Katenkamp, who was instrumental in launching the Publix Delivery online shopping solution, including the formalization of the grocer’s partnership with Instacart, will continue to develop and execute Publix’s omnichannel strategy.

After starting out in the aerospace industry, Katenkamp joined Publix in 1995 as an industrial engineer in manufacturing. He rose to business IT manager in 1999 and director of business application delivery in 2006. In 2013, Katenkamp became VP of information systems – application development.

Privately owned and operated by its 188,000 employees, Publix has 1,152 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
