Detroit-Area Meijers Fete Red Wings at Weekend Celebration
More than 40 southeastern Michigan Meijer stores joined together over the weekend to celebrate the Red Wings capturing the Stanley Cup.
“We know our Meijer customers are avid Red Wing fans,” said Scott Seling, group v.p. of Meijer’s East Region, who noted that the chain aimed “to do something that both celebrates this great hockey season and provides an opportunity for our customers to have some fun at our stores.”
Meijer’s Red Wings celebration centered on a host of in-store events that featured a variety of giveaways, in-store promotions and opportunities for Meijer customers to win Red Wings memorabilia.
The store events also included a "fanatic fan" contest. Customers who showed their Red Wings spirit and showed up in Red Wing gear were eligible to win $25 Meijer gift cards.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meijer operates 181 supercenters throughout Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.
