Diageo NA Names New C.F.O.

NORWALK, Conn. -- Spirits, wine, and beer company Diageo said yesterday that it has appointed Catherine Jessup c.f.o. for Diageo North America, to head up its finance function, effective August 14.

Jessup replaces Deirdre Mahlan, who was promoted to a global position within Diageo Plc.

For the past 12 years, Jessup has handled accounting and control, planning and forecasting, tax, treasury, cash management, risk management, and investor relations at the Topps Co., reporting directly to its c.e.o. During her tenure there, she helped lead a turnaround of the business and played a key role in the financial restructuring of the company, said Diageo. She additionally formalized and expanded the planning and forecasting processes at Topps, and managed the financial integration of a major acquisition, the company said.

Before joining Topps, Jessup worked at PepsiCo, Inc. for 13 years, where she rose to the position of c.f.o. for PepsiCo Wines & Spirits, in which capacity she had full responsibility for the finance function of the spirits importing division, Diageo said.

Diageo's brands include Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Smirnoff, J&B, Baileys, Cuervo, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, Beaulieu Vineyard, and Sterling Vineyards wines. The company trades in over 180 countries around the world.
