Chicago-based meal prep center chain Dinner by Design said it is bowing a new brand, Dinner by Design Express, and new home and group delivery services.
With the new conveniences of home and group delivery, Dinner by Design Express said it aims to carve out a niche between grocery stores, restaurants, and specialty food companies like pizza chains.
The company said it will offer delivery of entrees, side dishes, and desserts initially out of its new Dinner by Design Express location in Gurnee, Illinois. The service is free and a $25 minimum order applies, the company said. The average cost of Dinner by Design entrees is $3-$5 per serving.
The first menu offered by Dinner by Design Express includes Adobo Flank Steak with Corn Relish, Sesame Chicken Sate w/Peanut Sauce, Shrimp Arrabiatta, Stuffed Sole, Turkey Tetrazzini and Bacon Wrapped Meatloaves.
"Smart Side" dishes include options such as: Peas and Carrots with Honey Mint Butter, Roasted Garlic Green Beans, Stir-Fry Vegetables, Sun Dried Tomato Pesto Cous Cous and Lemon Asparagus Rice. Appetizers and desserts are also available.
The company said home deliveries will be made between 5 and 8 p.m. on specific days in various Illinois communities including Lake Buff, Lake Forest, Waukegan, Deerfield, Highlight Park, Antioch, Lake Villa, Lindenhurst and surrounding areas. In its immediate market of Gurnee, delivery will be available every day, Monday through Friday. For groups and companies, deliveries will be made at prescheduled times.
