This summer, the Dole brand and Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk will co-sponsor the first-ever Peel the Love Summer Food Truck Tour, dedicated to reaching consumers, retailers and other influencers in eight U.S. cities.
The tour, also sponsored by Dole Packaged Foods, will bring Dole Banana and Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk messages, recipes and samples directly to tastemakers nationwide. The tour launches in Seattle around Memorial Day and concludes in the Baltimore, Md., area after Labor Day.
“Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk and Dole Bananas are both healthy and delicious products, so a partnership makes a lot of sense,” said Suzanne Hagener, senior marketing manager of Blue Diamond Almond Breeze. “We’re delighted to be working with Dole to bring recipes, samples and fun information directly to consumers across the county this summer.”
Throughout the tour, Dole and Blue Diamond will target health-, fitness- and lifestyle-oriented consumers and will partner with retailers to suggest new serving, pairing and entertaining options. Both brands will also reach out to registered dieticians, supermarket nutritionists, food bloggers and other influentials in each city about the health, taste and convenience advantages of bananas, almonds and almondmilk.
According to Hagener, the brightly colored Peel the Love truck will also visit Sacramento, Calif.; Los Angeles; Phoenix; Houston; Des Moines, Iowa; and New York. The truck, created specifically for the tour and staffed by healthy eating advocates, will stop at supermarkets, parks and other public and private venues. In honor of National Banana Split Day, on Aug. 25, 2013, the truck will also visit Latrobe, Pa., the official birthplace of the famous dessert.
