Duane Reade Launches Online Coupon Gallery

New York-based drug chain Duane Reade is offering a new online coupon gallery that’s accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The coupon gallery at DuaneReade.com offers nearly $60 in savings on staples from soup and cereal to vitamins and pet food. To use the gallery, consumers browse the available offers, click to “clip” the ones they want, then print the coupons and redeem them at checkout.

Powered by Mountain View, Calif.-based Coupons.com, company officials said the coupon gallery will offer savvy New Yorkers a new and convenient way to stretch their dollars. “Partnering with Duane Reade helps New Yorkers remain on the vanguard of one of the biggest savings trends we’ve seen in recent years – the adoption of online couponing as part of everyday budgeting,” said Steven Boal, CEO of Coupons.com.

Internet couponing is becoming an increasingly popular way for consumers to save on purchases. According to Nielsen-owned Scarborough Research, in 2009, online coupon redemption increased 300 percent. In the New York metropolitan area, 20 percent of adults are using Internet or email coupons and now shoppers have even more opportunities to save with digital coupons.

Coupons.com currently powers online coupon galleries Safeway, Kmart, CVS, and Walgreens. Its licensees include top consumer packaged goods companies including Johnson & Johnson, General Mills, Kimberly-Clark, Kraft Foods, and Clorox, as well as hundreds of grocery retailers.
