ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) has debuted its mobile Catapult point-of-sale solution, which was designed to extend the Catapult POS business logic to mobile POS, traditional POS, and services wherever consumers and transactions intersect.
“The evolving marketplace requires retailers to step outside traditional store boundaries to exceed customer expectations and create a unique and convenient shopping experience,” said ECRS president, Peter Catoe. “ECRS is responding to this need by offering a robust mobile point-of-sale solution and affordable, consumer centric self-checkout that are ready to serve beyond the typical store-front checkout lane.”
ECRS made sure not to sacrifice functionality for mobility, and nearly 100 percent of the features found in ECRS’s traditional POS system configuration are now available on mobile versions, which are fully enterprise ready, remotely configurable, and ready to scale.
The system is designed so that with each mobile device, users can perform a full range of activities such as touchscreen customization, customer association, loyalty redemption, gift card activation, gift card redemption, item lookup, customer history lookup, automated redundancy failover, automatic transaction recovery, automatic discounting, and transaction suspend and resume. The mobile POS solution’s run in both a thin and redundant mode, working within and outside of Wi-Fi range, which allows for uninterrupted performance in demanding real world retail environments.
