Eddie’s of Roland Park Bows Redesigned Site

‘Facelift’ allows for more interaction, better customer service

Eddie’s of Roland Park has undergone a “complete website facelift,” courtesy of Mission Media, a creative agency in the two-store upscale independent grocer’s hometown of Baltimore. The site’s new design employs a retro color palette, bold fonts and user-friendly navigation.

“We truly believe the new website is going to strengthen Eddie’s position as the go-to grocer for prepared foods, baked foods and other general grocery needs in the Baltimore area,” said Mission Media principal and creative director Todd Harvey. “The new site allows for more interaction between customers and the store, and better reflects the stellar reputation Eddie’s has made for itself over the past 68 years.”

Site visitors to can easily access and download Eddie’s biweekly circular, view and print recipes from the family-owned and -operated grocer’s culinary team, learn about upcoming events, and read past Eddie’s newsletters, as well as registering to receive Eddie’s e-newsletter and finding links to the grocer on Facebook and Twitter.

On the homepage, users can view specials, and from all pages on the site, visitors have access to Eddie’s history, departments, services, events and “In the News” section.

Noting that the redesigned site would be able to “grow and change with our business,” Eddie’s owner Nancy Cohen said that the grocer “has always been known for quality products and exceptional service, and we [can] now deliver the same level of accessibility, timely information and customer experience online.”

The website is tied into Mission Media’s fully customized content management system (CMS), making it easy for Eddie’s to manage content and instantly update features on the website and in the e-mail newsletter. “This allows for their attention to be focused on store operations and customer service while allowing customers to have a new experience every time they visit the site,” explained Harvey.

The website development is a part of an interactive marketing campaign that includes launching and maintaining social media and e-newsletter campaigns, and providing SEO and SEM support for Eddie’s. Mission Media is also working on enabling shoppers to access the Eddie’s website from their smartphones.
