Eggland’s Best has named Karen Petersen of Huntsville, Ala., its inaugural Chief Egg Officer (CEO), bringing a close to the brand’s “Chief Egg Officer Search” contest, launched this past summer. In addition to her honorary title, Petersen (right) received the $5,000 grand prize and a year’s supply of Eggland’s Best eggs.
The brand chose three finalists based on their written responses and videos, which were judged upon representation of the Eggland's Best brand (50 percent), creativity of the video response (30 percent) and consumer online voting (20 percent).
"As a loyal customer of Eggland's Best eggs and a long-time fan of the brand's superior nutrition, taste and overall quality, I am ecstatic to be selected as Eggland's Best's first 'Chief Egg Officer,'" said Petersen, who visited Eggland’s Best in New York City on Dec. 8 to receive her winnings and attend the Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the brand’s employees.
The contest’s two runners-up, Jackie Brown of Fairview, N.C., and Carey Ann Dodd of Oregon, Ohio, will each be awarded a $500 cash prize and a six-month supply of Eggland's Best eggs.
Progressive Grocer chose Eggland’s Best as one of its 2012 Editors’ Picks and Category Captains.
