Fairway Market unveiled a new mobile app that aims to provide an “enriched experience for shoppers who love to cook and explore the unique products that make Fairway an iconic market and beloved shopping destination.”
Touting personalization and ease of use, the Manhattan-based grocer’s new app -- available on the iPhone App Store -- enables users to create individual food profiles by choosing dietary preferences while also exploring detailed photos featuring step-by-step recipes curated by Fairway experts.
"Our new mobile app brings the best of Fairway to our customers' fingertips," said Arthur Tisi, Fairway Market’s CIO, who was part of “the great team that designed and developed an innovative app that enhances our customers' foodie knowledge and helps them to better plan and cook delicious meals."
As mobile customers, users can enjoy access to exclusive offers only available on the iPhone app. By filling out the app profile, they are provided with a unique personal barcode that can be scanned at checkout to redeem the offers.
In addition to offering meal suggestions, recipes and complementary wine pairings, app users can also access specially selected music to cook with from a playlist with more than 12 hours of easy listening by local tri-state artists.
Fairway’s new app also allows users to add ingredients to a shopping list with a single tap along with accessing information about store locations, hours of operation, the best times to shop, and floor plans to help make shopping trips more organized and productive.
"The Fairway app is multi-layered, offering so many advantages to make shopping trips easier, and preparation and cooking a very satisfying experience," added Herb Ruetsch, CEO of Fairway Market. "It is a continuous source of knowledge and motivation for those who truly love good food."
Every Fairway Market has free Wi-Fi, making downloading the app easy. Simply text FWAPP to 313131, or search "Fairway Market" in the iTunes App Store. iPad and Android versions of the app will be available in early 2014.
