Discount retailer Family Dollar plans to deploy a test management solution to assist in the training and testing of its employees.
The retailer said it will use the Test & Learn Management System from Applied Predictive Technologies (APT) to optimize a number of strategic initiatives across functional areas ranging from operations to capital investment to marketing, merchandizing, labor, and real estate.
"Family Dollar considers Test & Learn to be a key strategic capability for evaluating and optimizing business initiatives," said Dorlisa Flur, e.v.p., strategy and marketing for Family Dollar. "We have applied APT tools to important initiatives ranging from operations to marketing to capital investment, identifying specific improvement opportunities with substantial value."
The Test & Learn platform provides a set of solutions designed to help large retail organizations institutionalize a rigorous retail testing process. It automates functions such as data collection, provides tools required to design and interpret tests correctly, generates consistent and clear outputs for each test, and supports a disciplined and repeatable process for business users and senior decision-makers across the organization, according to APT.
Matthews, N.C.-based Family Dollar operates more than 6,400 stores in 44 states.
