FMI Creating Portal to Enhance Show Experience

ARLINGTON, VA -- The Food Marketing Institute said it is creating an online portal to help attendees of at the upcoming FMI Show plus Marketechnics make the most of their time at the event.

FMI is working with BDMetrics to develop FMIConnect, which it said will be a customized experience for attendees at the event, to be held May 4-7 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

"Cutting-edge technology such as FMIConnect can customize the experience for the people attending the show and help exhibiting companies showcase their products," said Brian Tully, FMI s.v.p. "Everyone will benefit by using their time most efficiently and obtaining the highest return on their investment in the trip."

Using the BDMetrics technology the FMIConnect portal will create a personal show guide that identifies exhibitors, educational sessions, press releases, and social events that match the attendee's needs.

According to FMI, the portal can also pair participants for peer networking, and arrange appointments, sessions, and other events into an agenda planner. Attendees can also create personalized maps of the show floor to navigate the convention hall, identify exhibitors to meet, and sessions to attend.

Exhibitors will have access to SmartBooth portals developed to help them identify and interact with relevant prospects before, during, and after the event.

FMIConnect will be available to 2008 Show exhibitors and registered attendees through the FMI Web site: www.fmi.org/show.
