FMI Seeks 2013 Community Outreach Award Noms

Food Marketing Institute (FMI) is now accepting nominations for its 2013 Community Outreach Awards, to pay tribute to the food retail industry’s role as partners in their neighborhoods’ service initiatives. Nominations are in three categories: youth development programs, programs addressing food insecurity, and neighborhood health improvement programs.

Two winners from each category will receive a $1,000 donation to improve their respective programs, along with a plaque. Nominations are due Dec. 31, with winners to be revealed in January 2014.

Arlington, Va.-based FMI will choose finalists based on submissions containing program descriptions, metrics and evaluations. Judging criteria include the level of employee and community participation, merit derived by the community, and the entries originality and creativity.

Complete rules and a submission application are available online.
