Food Lion Names V.P. Financial Planning and Investment Analysis
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Beefing up the talent in its financial executive suite, regional chain Food Lion LLC here has named Maria Lowder v.p. of financial planning and investment analysis.
In this new role, Lowder will report to Carol Herndon, e.v.p. of accounting and analysis and information technology. She will lead Food Lion’s investment analysis team in its ongoing initiatives to support corporate strategy in optimizing the return on investments and maximizing shareholder value, the company said.
In her most recent role as director of financial planning and analysis, Lowder developed and led the work of the chain’s strategic planning and forecasting team and will continue to do so in this new position.
Lowder began her career in accounting at Cooper Industries in Americus, Ga. in 1992. She joined Food Lion LLC in 1995 as a corporate auditor. Since then, she has held management and leadership positions in the accounting department, and spent three years as the corporate finance manager for Delhaize Group, of which Food Lion LLC is a subsidiary.
