Food Lion Recalls Ground Beef Sold in Cary, N.C. Store

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Regional chain Food Lion issued a recall for 230 pounds of fresh ground beef sold at its Cary, N.C. store over the weekend, according to press reports.

The retailer said it recalled the fresh ground beef on suspicions that it may have been contaminated with metal. The company reportedly received one customer complaint, but no illnesses were reported.

Food Lion officials said customers should return any varieties of fresh ground beef with a sell-by-date of Oct. 22, and receive a full refund.
