Food Lion Sets Goal to Raise $4 Million for Children's Miracle Network

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Regional chain Food Lion LLC, a division of the Delhaize Group, said on Friday it aims to raise $4 million in its annual "Food Lion for the Children" campaign for Children's Miracle Network (CMN). The campaign will run through April 30.

Customers participate in the campaign by purchasing paper CMN balloons for $1 each.

CMN is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children by raising funds and awareness for 170 children's hospitals. Every dollar given during Food Lion's campaign will support a regional children's hospital.

Food Lion supports 29 CMN hospitals in its 11-state operations area. Since 1991, Food Lion has raised and donated more than $24 million for CMN. In 2006, the company raised and contributed more than $3 million to CMN hospitals.
