The Fresh Market Plans 2 Stores for Metro Phillie

Tough economic times have not slowed expansion at The Fresh Market, as the chain of specialty grocery stores is expanding its presence in the Keystone state in 2009 with two new stores in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area.

The Fresh Market currently has one location in Pennsylvania, in Center Valley in the Allentown-Bethlehem metro area, which opened in 2007.

The grocer's first Philadelphia metro location should open in the spring of 2009 in Glen Mills. The second store will be an anchor tenant of a new shopping center in Horsham Township, with the opening planned for the summer of 2009.

Greensboro, N.C.-based The Fresh Market operates 86 stores in 18 states.
