Fresh Market Taps Former Sealy Exec as CFO

Greensboro, N.C.-based specialty grocer The Fresh Market has named Jeffrey Ackerman executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective June 3. Ackerman, 50, will oversee the company's financial functions, including accounting, audit, information technology, investor relations, tax, and financial planning and analysis.

Ackerman most recently served as EVP and CFO at Sealy Corp., one of the largest bedding manufacturers in the world. Prior to Sealy, he was VP, finance with Dade Behring Inc., and held a variety of finance roles at the Frito-Lay branded snack division of PepsiCo Inc.
 
Ackerman holds a masters in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor of science in industrial management from Purdue University.
 
Fresh Market operates 131 stores in 25 states.
