FreshDirect Expands Deliveries to Scarsdale, N.Y.
Online grocer FreshDirect said yesterday it was extending delivery services into Scarsdale, a suburb located in New York's upscale Westchester County.
Starting today, Scarsdale residents will be able to access FreshDirect's large product offering of local and organic produce, chef-prepared 4-Minute Meals, and Ready-to-Cook entrEes and groceries. The new delivery route adds to a growing number of towns in Westchester now serviced by FreshDirect, including Pelham, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Rye, and Harrison.
Among the suburb-friendly conveniences FreshDirect offers to Westchester residents are morning delivery slots from Saturday through Tuesday and a "drop-off" service where groceries are left at a customer's doorstep, giving them the freedom to leave their home during the scheduled two-hour delivery window and find their order waiting when they return.
"Since FreshDirect began expanding its services into new neighborhoods outside of Manhattan in 2002, we have quickly become a fixture in the suburban landscape," said Steve Michaelson, president of Long Island City, N.Y.-based FreshDirect.
The company serves most of Manhattan and locations in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx, as well as parts of New Jersey, Westchester, and Nassau County.
