As part of its ongoing expansion into Connecticut, online grocer FreshDirect has added Stamford, the Nutmeg State’s fourth-largest city to the fast-growing list of communities receiving home delivery service.
The company now has a strong presence in Connecticut’s Fairfield County, with delivery service also recently extended to Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Cos Cob and Riverside. Additionally, FreshDirect recently doubled its presence in adjacent Westchester County, N.Y., where it currently delivers to 21 communities.
Noting “the enthusiastic response we’ve received from our recent launch in the Greenwich market and expansion in Westchester County,” CEO Rick Braddock said that Long Island City, N.Y.-based FreshDirect planned “to build on that momentum with our arrival now in Stamford,” which he described as “one of the tri-state [area’s] most dynamic cities, with a vibrant and growing residential and corporate sales population.”
