FreshDirect Rolls Out ‘Guaranteed Fresh’ Mark

Online grocer FreshDirect has debuted “Guaranteed Fresh” labels, which appear on all freshly made meals, meat, seafood, dairy and produce items.

Online grocer FreshDirect has debuted “Guaranteed Fresh” labels, which appear on all freshly made meals, meat, seafood, dairy and produce items. The designation clearly shows customers exactly how many days their food will remain fresh.

According to Long Island City, N.Y.-based FreshDirect, the exclusive service not only ensures the freshness and quality of perishable products, but also helps take the guesswork out of shopping, helping shoppers to cut down on food waste, plan meals and save money. The grocer sources its fresh items directly from local dairies, fisheries and farms.

As well as the new label, FreshDirect strives for freshness and superior food quality in its orders through daily quality ratings, ready-to-heat-and-serve meals and side dishes that are prepared daily on premises, a temperature-controlled facility and trucks, and a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.

“Our customers trust us to be their eyes in the fresh food and grocery shopping process,” said FreshDirect chief marketing and strategy officer Monica Woo. “Each product can be traced back to the cutting board or produce shelf, so we’re happy to be held accountable for every order.”

FreshDirect’s service area includes most of Manhattan, locations in Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and the Bronx, and parts of New Jersey, Connecticut, and Westchester and Nassau counties.
