G-P Names Packaging Sustainability Head
Georgia-Pacific has promoted Patrick Smorch to a new post as director of packaging sustainability. Smorch has spent the past five years leading G-P's Packaging Systems Optimization (PSO) program, a rigorous five-step process in which a team of packaging experts and engineers analyze a company's entire packaging supply chain from package design and shelf impact to line productivity, material handling and distribution.
In his new role, Smorch will be responsible for Georgia-Pacific's packaging sustainability initiative, the division design team, and the PSO program.
PSO was developed at Georgia-Pacific's Innovation Institute.
