Giant-Carlisle Debuts First Standalone Gas Station

CARLISLE, Pa. -- Giant Food Stores, LLC is opening its first fuel station outside of a parking lot of one of its stores, a change that it said offers more convenience at the location.

The station, in Camp Hill, Pa., is across the street from a Giant store, company spokeswoman Tracy Pawelski told Progressive Grocer. The station's opening marks the Ahold company's 39th Giant gas station. The chain also runs 11 Martin's Food Markets fuel stations.

"We decided to open this free-standing fuel station near our Camp Hill Giant Super Food Store in order to offer our shoppers who travel the busy Camp Hill Bypass a more convenient location to gas up and redeem their Gas Extra Rewards," said Pawelski.

The 10-pump station, like all of the chain's other fuel stations, offers free compressed air, gas mitts, and waterless soap. Customers can also buy and use Giant gift cards at the site.
