Giant-Carlisle Opens 100th Fuel Station

Giant Food Stores will open its 100th fuel station on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 8 a.m. The fuel station is in the parking lot of the Giant store at 760 Route 113 in Souderton, Pa.

“Since we opened our first fuel station in 1998, Giant has been committed to offering customers the convenience of filling their grocery carts and gas tanks with one-stop shopping,” said Rick Herring, president of Carlisle, Pa.-based Giant/Martin’s, a division of Ahold USA. “Our customers’ overwhelming response to this added convenience and their enthusiastic support of our ‘Gas Extra Rewards’ program have helped us to achieve this 100th station milestone.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the grand opening, and all gas customers will receive a free coffee coupon between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., with cake served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The fuel station will offer 12 pumps, each with a Pay-at-the-Pump feature, along with gas mitts to keep hands clean, waterless hand soap and free air. Additionally, for every $100 customers using a Bonuscard spend on grocery and pharmacy out-of-pocket expenses at any Giant, they’ll get 10 cents off per gallon of gas when they fill up, under the Gas Extra Rewards program. Points can be earned and redeemed now through Jan. 19, 2013. In common with other Giant fuel sites, the Souderton fuel station sells and redeems Giant gift cards.

Operating under the Giant Food Stores and Martin’s banners, Giant/Martin’s employs more than 31,000 associates at stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
