Giant-Landover Names SVP Ops/Sales
Giant Food, LLC has hired Shane Sampson to be its SVP, Operations/Sales. Sampson assumed his duties Nov. 16.
In his new role, Sampson is a key member of the Ahold USA division’s leadership team, with responsibility for total store operations leadership and customer service. He reports directly to Giant Food president Robin Michel.
Before joining the chain, Sampson was VP of merchandising and marketing and earlier VP of operations for Albertson’s, LLC Texas/Louisiana division. His other jobs have included president of Albertson’s Florida and Intermountain Divisions, operations and sales leadership positions, and a stint as a regional sales operations manager at Sam’s Club.

Landover, Md.-based Giant Food operates 180 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia, and employs about 22,000 associates. Included within the 180 stores are 163 full-service pharmacies.
