Giant-Landover/Stop & Shop Roll Out Online Community for Moms

Ahold USA divisions Giant-Landover and Stop & Shop have launched www.smallvictories.com, an online community for moms. Celebrating the little wins that make a difference in moms’ everyday lives, the site will be updated daily with such new content as recipes, money-saving advice, and survival tips from fellow moms.

Among the article topics featured on www.smallvictories.com are healthy living, eating, enjoying, saving and simplifying. The site also provides opportunities for users to share easy meal suggestions, health advice and humor.

“We want to connect with our customers beyond the checkout lines,” said Robin Michel, president of Landover, Md.-based Giant Food, LLC. “We understand that, for busy moms, food and shopping begin at home and are one of the many things on everyone’s to-do lists. The smallvictories.com Web site is one way we can help alleviate this everyday hurdle.” Giant/Stop & Shop consumer advisor and mom Andrea Astrachan will be a regular site contributor.

The site is an extension of the Giant/Stop customer publication Small Victories, which bowed this past summer. Later this month, www.smallvictories.com visitors will also be able to take advantage of exclusive savings opportunities.

Giant-Landover operates 180 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia, and employs about 22,000 associates. Included within the 180 stores are 163 full-service pharmacies. The Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. employs over 59,000 associates and operates stores throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York, and New Jersey.
