Gills Onions has launched its first consumer product promotion, Sweet Spring Arrivals, as a way to communicate further with consumers about its 6-ounce sliced sweet-onion product, which is available annually from late April through September.
To get the word out, the Oxnard, Calif.-based, family-owned grower and food processor recently boosted its social media exposure to leverage the influence of venues such as Facebook and Twitter. “We’ve realized for some time the powerful voice that social networking offers companies like ours,” explained Gills director of sales & marketing Nelia Alamo. “Gills Onions has delicious, healthy and convenient products that benefit a number consumer groups.”
Gills’ California-grown onions feature a mild, even sugary, taste the company’s fresh-cut products, offered in eco-friendly packaging, provide flavor, quality and convenience.
