GMA and Deloitte to Conduct Industry Review of Retail Marketing Trends

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) Deloitte Consulting, LLP to conduct its inaugural "Industry Review of Retail Marketing Trends" study, which will take an in-depth look at emerging consumer trends affecting the traditional CPG marketing mix return on investment, as well as research strategies currently in use to identify models of success in shopper marketing.

"This study will provide pragmatic shopper marketing insights that will drive industry performance and identify retail leadership practices and opportunities in shopper marketing," said Stephen Sibert, GMA s.v.p. of industry affairs.

The selection of Deloitte was made by a project steering committee comprised of members of the GMA sales and sales agency committees. "Deloitte Consulting brings the right mix of consumer insight, CPG experience and knowledge of the retail marketplace to evaluate ways our industry can improve the productivity and efficiency of how we reach and win with consumers," said Tracy VanBibber, s.v.p., sales, The Dial Corporation and project steering committee chair.

Results are expected to be released this fall and will be featured at the GMA Merchandising, Sales and Marketing Conference, which will be held at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., September 30 through October 2.
