GMA Co-locating Manufacturing Conference at PACK EXPO International

The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) is joining forces with the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI) to co-locate the inaugural Manufacturing Excellence Conference, which will take place during this fall’s PACK EXPO International Trade Show. Scheduled for Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 as part of the four-day PACK EXPO event at Chicago’s McCormick Place, the conference will offer education on such topics as product safety, sustainability and operational reliability. PACK EXPO International will run from Oct. 31 through Nov. 3.

“The PMMI PACK EXPO International Trade Show, with more than 1,600 exhibitions and over 45,000 attendees, is the perfect venue to host a comprehensive manufacturing conference that will deliver new and innovative solutions for our industry’s most pressing issues,” said Pamela G. Bailey, president and CEO of Washington-based GMA. “By partnering with PMMI, our goal is to provide GMA members and all of our industry partners a forum where we can work to align manufacturing, engineering and plant management problem solving in the critical areas of product safety, sustainability and operational reliability.”

Added Charles. D. Yuska, president and CEO of Arlington, Va.-based PMMI, “GMA member companies such as Kraft, Georgia-Pacific, Coca-Cola, Unilever and The Hershey Co. attend PACK EXPO International to find the latest in processing and packaging solutions, and now can benefit from world-class education from GMA’s Manufacturing Excellence Conference.”
