Throughout August and September, home chefs are invited to submit their favorite grilled cheese recipes made using Great Midwest cheeses for their chance to win one of eight prizes.
Staying true to the brand’s name, the “I ♥ Grilled Cheese” promotion’s grand-prize winner will receive a weekend trip to the “Great Midwest” city of their choice, including airfare, hotel accommodations and spending money. Two silver and five bronze tier winners will receive grilled cheese-themed prizes: Cuisinart Griddler Grill, Griddle & Panini Press (silver tier winners) and “Grilled Cheese: 50 Recipes to Make You Melt,” a recipe book by Marlena Spieler (bronze tier winners).
“Grilled cheese is a food that so many of us remember fondly from childhood,” said Katie Jury, marketing manager for Saputo Cheese USA Inc.’s specialty cheese brands. “Great Midwest artisanal flavored cheeses bring a ‘grown up’ twist to this childhood classic. We’re excited to see consumers’ ideas for this recipe contest. With the myriad of flavors the line offers, the possibilities are endless.”
In-store shelf talkers with tear pads featuring a coupon can be found in participating retailers throughout the contest. Additionally, consumers with smart phones can connect directly to GreatMidwestCheese.com via the promotional display’s QR code to view recipes and wine pairings and to access the online entry form.
Full contest details, including an entry form, will also be available on the brand’s Facebook page. Consumers are encouraged to share their participation via social media as well; entrants that do so will earn bonus points on their contest entry.
