Representing a major breakthrough in the laundry category, Method Laundry Detergent with Smartclean Technology employs an innovative patent-pending formula to deliver superior cleaning power with just a quarter of the dose of the leading national brand, according to San Francisco-based Method, which touts its new product as “the world’s greenest laundry detergent.” Smartclean Technology allows for a formula eight times more concentrated than conventional laundry detergents and eliminates excess water. Needing significantly less water, plastic, energy and oil to produce than traditional detergents, the product boasts a carbon footprint 35 percent lower than standard 2x detergents, earning Method the world’s first Cradle to Cradle certification for laundry detergent in recognition of the product’s formulation safety, green packaging design and manufacturing process. The dye-free, biodegradable detergent works in both high-efficiency and standard washing machines; is available in two fragrances, Fresh Air and Peony Blossom, in addition to Free + Clear, a scent-free formula; and comes in a recyclable bottle with a pump top designed for accurate dispensing.
