GMDC annually bestows its Lifetime Achievement Award on a person who has contributed significantly to the general merchandise or health, beauty, and wellness industries, as well as to GMDC, through his or her leadership. In 1984 he founded Handi-Foil and developed new items and concepts to revolutionize the foil industry, according to GMDC. Today Handi-Foil employs over 700 associates and occupies approximately 650,000 square feet of manufacturing and distribution space in Wheeling, Ill.
