You are here
You’re probably reading this on a stolen break during the pre-Thanksgiving rush in your stores (I thank you for that!), and just as soon as Turkey Day is over, your shoppers will be preparing for December festivities. As you’ll see in the story below, more and more of this holiday shopping – both for gifts and for food, as well – is taking place online, and retailers are leveraging this in the form of holiday online specials.
If you’re looking to get a small for staff members to show your appreciation, here’s an idea: see what they have on their hips. Most people today have some sort of smart phone on their belt – whether a Blackberry or an iPod (there are plenty of multifunctional prepaid phones, as well) – and accessories for them, whether a case, a giftcard for ringtones, or even prepaid minutes are an inexpensive way of spreading joy.
And for your foodservice employees, take a look at the Cook or be Cooked Nintendo Wii game mentioned in this newsletter – it looks like a ton of fun, and they may learn some helpful tips and tricks while trying to beat the clock preparing meals.
Most importantly, treat yourself to a huge, delicious meal on Thursday. You deserve it!
