Harris Teeter pharmacy customers were previously able to phone-in their prescription refills or take advantage of automatic refill services offered by the company. With the new system, Harris Teeter hopes to save its shoppers additional time with a third option to place refill orders, anytime day or night.
The process to submit a refill request is simple: On the Harris Teeter website the user logs into his or her profile and clicks the My Pharmacy link, followed by the Refill Prescriptions link. They then must provide the last four digits of the phone number associated with the prescription as well as the prescription number. Payment is collected at time of pick-up.
Customers using a smartphone can also submit their refills through ht mobile, Harris Teeter's smartphone app, which can be downloaded for free from the Apple Store or Android Marketplace. For Blackberry units, users must search the mobile Harris Teeter website to reach ht mobile.
The 15-minute prescription guarantee does not apply for online and mobile refille. Pharmacists will contact shoppers if there is a problem with the order.
New features are expected to be added in the coming weeks, including a Transfer Prescription function as well as a Refill Status reminder which will notify shoppers when their prescription is ready for pick-up.
Harris Teeter operates 136 pharmacies in six states and Washington, D.C. and continues to grow its pharmacy services.
